Reception of the Most Blessed Sacrament to the Archdiocese of Philadelphia
Today we celebrate the great gift of the Eucharist, the Body and Blood of Christ, given for the life of the world. The Eucharist is not simply a symbol; it is Jesus truly present among us.
- The Eucharist is God's Gift of Love: Just as God fed His people with manna in the desert, Jesus now feeds us with Himself. Every Mass reminds us that God never abandons His people but continues to nourish us with His love and grace.
- The Eucharist Builds Our Unity: Saint Paul reminds us that though we are many, we are one body because we share the one Bread. At Holy Cross Parish, the Eucharist calls us to overcome divisions, support one another, and live as one family of faith.
- The Eucharist Sends Us on Mission: We do not leave Mass the same way we entered. Having received Christ, we are sent to bring His presence to others through acts of kindness, forgiveness, service, and charity.
As we celebrate Corpus Christi, may we deepen our love for the Eucharist, receive Jesus with faith, and become what we receive: the Body of Christ for the world.
