St. Joseph's Parish 50th Anniversary Celebration Planning
Hey, St. Joseph's, let's plan an anniversary celebration! On Saturday September 12, 2026, our church will celebrate the 50th Anniversary of its consecration. Let's have a parish celebration of the occasion. We need volunteers to start planning the festive event as an organizing committee. We want to have a family-friendly party and hope for volunteers to get things started. Please contact Lisa at the Rectory if you are willing to help at 215-646-0494 or gro.relbmahpesojts@rehgallagl.

Applying This Week's Gospel

In the Gospel, Jesus chose twelve of his disciples and sent them our on mission. The Greek word for "one who is sent" is "apostle" and this is the first time in Matthew's Gospel that Jesus sends out apostles to continue and expand his work. Jesus instructs them to proclaim: "The kingdom of God is at hand." and to "Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers and drive out demons." The Church calls this mission of announcing the kingdom of God and doing what Jesus did in his life the mission of evangelization and Evangelization in the Modern World is the Church's greatest document on evangelization. Chapter three in this papal exhortation deals with the content of evangelization and chapter four deals with the methods of evangelization. This week, understand the content and methods of evangelization and act on this understanding in practical ways.

    1. Discuss with the members of your group the content of evangelization and the methods of evangelization.
    1. How can you and your parish act on this understanding of the content and the methods of evangelization in practical ways?
In the Peace of Christ,
Father Jim

A Summer Prayer for Our Students

As our CFF students begin their summer break, we thank You for the blessings of this past year. Watch over them and their families, keep them safe in all they do, and help them continue to grow in faith, hope, and love. May they always remember that You are with them wherever they go and return to us refreshed and ready to continue their journey with You. We ask this 3 through Christ our Lord. Amen.
