"Rainforest Falls" is June 22nd-26th for campers incoming pre-K-5th grade and volunteers! Walking into the Rainforests is exploring what it means to be rooted in a relationship with God. It is a long-life adventure of discovering the nature of GOD! We hope you can join us for a week filled with FAITH and FUN!
As we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, also known as Corpus Christi, the Church invites us to reflect deeply on the greatest gift our Lord has given to us in the Holy Eucharist. At every Mass, heaven touches earth as ordinary bread and wine become the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is not merely a symbol or a remembrance. It is Christ Himself, given for the life of the world.
In today's Gospel, we hear of Jesus feeding the multitude with five loaves and two fish. What seemed small and insufficient became more than enough in the hands of the Lord. This miracle points us directly to the Eucharist, where Jesus continues to feed His people with His very presence. He knows our hunger, our burdens, our fears, and our longing for peace. He invites us to come to Him and be nourished by His love.
The Eucharist strengthens us for daily life. It calls us to greater holiness, deeper charity, and faithful service to one another. Every time we receive Holy Communion, we are united more closely to Christ and to each other as members of His Body, the Church. We do not walk alone. The Lord remains with us.
This weekend also marks a significant moment in the life of our parish community as we prepare to say farewell and offer our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Patricia Lamb, who is concluding 40 years of faithful service as Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Our Lady Queen of Angels.
For four decades, Dr. Lamb has shared her remarkable talent, unwavering dedication, and deep faith with our parish and school community. Through sacred music, she has helped lead countless souls into prayer and worship. Week after week, season after season, her ministry has enriched our liturgies and lifted our hearts to God. Music holds a unique place in the life of the Church because it has the power to open the soul to the beauty and mystery of God's presence. Dr. Lamb has done this faithfully and prayerfully throughout her years among us.
As we celebrate the Eucharist this weekend, it is fitting that we also give thanks for those who help make our worship reverent, beautiful, and inspiring. Dr. Lamb's ministry has been a true gift to Our Lady Queen of Angels, and her contributions will long be remembered with gratitude and affection.
We wish her every blessing and much happiness in this next chapter of life. We are also grateful for her assistance in helping the parish prepare for this transition and in seeking a suitable replacement for the future.
Please keep Dr. Lamb in your prayers, just as she has undoubtedly prayed for this parish community throughout the years. May the Lord whom she has served so faithfully continue to guide and bless her abundantly.
As we gather around the altar of the Lord this Corpus Christi, may we always treasure the gift of the Holy Eucharist and strive to become what we receive, the living Body of Christ in the world.
God bless you all and have a great week!Fr. Patrick
