Resources for Magnifica Humanitas On the 2026 Memorial Day, Pope Leo's new encyclical Magnifica Humanitaris (On Safeguarding the Human Person in the Time of Artificial Intelligence) admonished us to remember the rich history and heritage of Catholic Social Doctrine—a tradition rooted in the Old Testament that came to full flowering in 1891 with Pope Leo XIII's landmark encyclical Rerum Novarum (On Capital and Labor). In order to facilitate the study of this encyclical by Pope Leo XIV, the Vatican's Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development has launched a dedicated website featuring infographics, explainer videos, and digital resources available in five languages. Here is the website link: https://www.humandevelopment.va/en/magnifica-humanitas.html. Also, the Ascension Press has recently published A Complete Guide to Pope Leo's First Encyclical on its website ahead of the print edition, which will feature commentary by Dr. Arthur C. Brooks and Fr. Mike Schmitz. It can be found here: https://ascensionpress.com/blogs/articles/acomplete-guide-to-pope-leos-encyclical-magnificent-humanitas. Resources for National Consecration to the Sacred Heart On June 11, 2026, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. bishops will consecrate the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The USCCB website has posted prayers, videos, and resources to help parishes to devote themselves to the Sacred Heart and plan local celebrations. The bishops encourage all Catholics to pray a special Novena to the Sacred Heart from June 3-11 using the special prayer resource in the link below: https://www.usccb.org/prayers/prayer-sacred-heart-jesus. The Consecration is part of the "We Hold These Truths" Initiative to highlight Catholic contributions to the United States of America as we celebrate the Semiquincentennial Anniversary (i.e., the 250th anniversary) of the founding of the country. Here is the link, if you want to learn more about this initiative. https://www.usccb.org/weholdthesetruths.

O GOD, who willed that our infirmities be borne by your Only Begotten Son to show the value of human suffering, listen in kindness to our prayers for our brothers and sisters who are sick; grant that all who are oppressed by pain, distress or other afflictions may know that they are chosen among those proclaimed blessed, and are united to Christ in his suffering for the salvation of the world. Through Christ our Lord. AMEN.
In your hands, O LORD, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. In this life you embraced them with your tender love; deliver them now from every evil and bid them eternal rest. The old order has passed away: welcome them into paradise, where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain, but fullness of peace and joy with your Son and the Holy Spirit forever and ever. AMEN.
